Weekend in Santiago
This weekend we took a two-day trip to Santiago de Compostela...we got lucky (or unlucky, depending on your perspective) and had sunny and warm weather all weekend. Visiting Galicia reminds you just how diverse Spain really is; it's the most Celtic area of Spain, and you can find bagpipers playing in the archways of the 11th-century cathedral. We stayed in the parador (the Hostal de Los Reyes Católicos), which was founded in 1492. According to the hotel's own brochure, this makes it the oldest hotel still in operation in the world.
