hooray for plumbing

After literally weeks of not being able to use the kitchen in our new apartment because of a blocked drain on the terrace, and having various "experts" tell us that it was going to require thousands of euros worth of repairs, the cleaning service came this morning to do the annual pipe cleaning. After a few passes with a high-pressure hose, a torrent of foul black goo came up from the drain, and a few minutes later the water was draining normally again. In short, we can stop eating microwaved food on paper plates, and we managed to save a huge amount of money. Definitely a treat instead of a trick this Halloween.
